Overview

The project is at a new building , consisted of 50kW of solar PV across two roof areas to help achieve the BREEAM certification. A 400Hz Frequency converter for specialist equipment and two UPS’s, one for a Central Power Supply System application and one for maintaining power for IT equipment.

UPS Specification

The client requirement was for high availability UPS equipment and the MEGA M was selected as it is certified 9 x Nines. The technology has been utilized by the MOD on several sites around GB.

Challenges

The challenges faced include the weather in the exposed location which reduced the time for working on the PV and locating the equipment into the new building.

Implementation

The project was completed over a 24 month period working with construction and M&E personnel. A challenging, but rewarding project.

Outcome & Benefits

The end user is familiar with the equipment and has worked with the engineering team on several projects over the past 10 years.
